Ramya Jegatheesan was born to Sri Lankan Tamil parents and lives in London. Her short stories have been published in anthologies and magazines, including the UCL Publishers’ Prize for Student Writing 2015, the National Gallery’s Degazine and in Untitled: Voices Issue 1. 

She is currently working on her first novel, Tea Child, which was longlisted for the Penguin WriteNow 2020 programme and was shortlisted for Agora Books’ Lost the Plot Work in Progress Prize 2020. She was one of ten writers chosen for Hachette UK's Grow Your Story programme and is a Curtis Brown Creative alum.
